Pine Knot Campground (Big Bear, Beautiful California)

There are 16 spots available for you to go to Big Bear! We already heard from many of you, but we need to CONFIRM with you to know you are still interested, so hurry up. Take a look at the map I created for you to know what is waiting for us! This is going to be a memorable trip we will all remember on our 100th birthday! :-)

Camping Info:

Check in: 2:00pm

Check out: 12:00pm

Fire rings and barbecue grills are available. We just need to take charcoal and food... we will even have flush toilets on the facility - fancy stuff!!! No showers though. We will need to go to the Serrano Campground, which is a couple miles away to take a shower for $3.00 a person.

Club Members Receive Awards & Certificates

On May 7th, club members Iliana, Karen (Mimi), Deanna, and Mia were recognized for their academic achievement and their commitment to club activities that enhance their educational/ personal goals. They are focused on their education, and their commitment to the campus and to the well being of other students are noticed and appreciated. We are proud to say that they are library club members!

As a side note, do you happen to know who is the gentleman next to me? I was honored to share the table with him. His name is Wilford Michael and our lovely library was named after him! He was the president of our college for 13 years and he retired in 1986. He was delighted to hear about our library club and how determined you all are.

End of Spring 2010

New officers: 
Karen Pineda aka mimi: Co- Treasurer
Iliana Ochoa: Events Coordinator

- Officers kept their current positions, except Soumia. Soumia left her Co- Treasurer officer position. She is now a member. Both Paula and Monica (advisers) will keep advising us!
- Opened new officer position called "Events Coordinator".
- A vote was passed to change the constitution.
- Camping trip for two nights, next to a beach with bonfires at night. Part of the club money will be used for this trip. May 28-30 (Unofficial date)

National Library Week - April 11-17

The Library Club has officially reached a respectable equilibrium! You should all be proud of yourselves for
all your contribution to our club so far. Your hard work is GREATLY appreciated.

Our recent Book Sale was a SUCCESS! Thanks again to those of you who made this happen.

ESL Book Discussions, Regular Book Discussions, OneCerritos, and Children's Reading will continue normally thanks to the club members running these activities.
